'Nest 5' - 76x76cm + frame - Anna Battle

I woke up one Sunday morning with a burning NEED to paint a nest. But it’s more than that… it’s the symbolism of it all. The last of my children will be leaving my nest shortly, and it’s got me thinking about what they’ll take with them and what they’ll leave behind, what the nests they make for themselves will be like, and how I still consider my parents’ home, “home”, even though I’ve never lived there.

This nest is literally nestled in the safety of a tree. They’re looking out for each other.

The flowers are symbolically “Toowoomba” and the feathers and wing can represent players in your family story.

This painting is FILLED TO THE BRIM with love, and I look forward to it finding a forever home.

Painted with artist quality acrylics in my Cabin studio here in Toowoomba.
