Sketch & Paint: An Art Holiday

What to expect

Three days of sketching, painting and good company at a gorgeous Granite Belt winery.

Fri 6 – Sun 8 November 2026

Ridgemill Estate Winery, Stanthorpe

What we’ll be doing

An immersive, hands-on few days, giving you a proper chance to slow down and really work through the process, from first sketch to finished painting. Beginners and more experienced artists are so welcome.

We’ll be sketching from reference photos and on location, then developing those sketches into watercolour paintings.

We’ll have a special behind-the-scenes tour of the winery.

There’s plenty of on-site subjects to sketch and we’ll have an excursion on Saturday for more subject options.

Where we’re staying

The award-winning boutique Ridgemill Estate Winery, Stanthorpe.

Luxury self-contained Studio Cabins: king bed + sofa bed, sleep up to 3 adults (ideal for a couple, or 2–3 friends travelling together) - $640 for the 2 nights, including a continental breakfast.

Accommodation is booked and paid separately from your ticket, directly with the venue.

Prefer to stay elsewhere? You're welcome to arrange your own accommodation nearby.

Once interest level is confirmed and the holiday is definitely going ahead, you can book directly with Marty at Ridgemill. :)

Friday 6 November - from 3pm

Arrive & Meet

As everyone arrives, we take time to settle in, get comfortable, and start sketching over a wood-fired pizza dinner.

Saturday 7 November

Sketch & See

Today we’ll tour the winery, have an excursion further afield, sketch sketch and sketch some more and end the day with dinner at a local restaurant (own cost).

Sunday 8 November

Sketch & See

We’ll develop our finished painting and finish our sketchbooks! We’ll wrap up and farewell our lovely group after lunch.
